Speleology encompasses the study, exploration and sport of natural underground spaces, which we know as caves. The Speleological Union of Ireland is the official body representing the interest of speleologists and sporting cavers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, at local, national and international levels. It provides training courses and works closely with the Irish Cave Rescue Organisation (ICRO).

The SUI brings together caving clubs, individual cavers and scientists and works extremely hard to develop the sport safely and provide training and leadership, whilst also being heavily involved in crucial conservation work and access. Interest in this very unique sport (or as some prefer to call it ‘adventure activity’) is on the rise and the SUI will be endeavouring to increase member numbers over the coming years.

The GoMembership solution will provide Membership and Club Management as well as Event and Course administration. Online payments and Communications will also facilitate and improve interaction with members, clubs, coaches and trainers.

David Pring, GoMembership CEO says, “We are delighted that the Speleological Union of Ireland has chosen GoMembership. It’s another fascinating organization to work with and support, and we look forward to getting them up and running with GoMembership very soon, and helping them manage and develop their sport.”

Richard Cole, Speleological Union of Ireland Public Relations Officer, says “We have been looking for a replacement for our online Members’ Area and saw that several other sporting National Governing Bodies were using GoMembership. As one of the smaller NGBs in Ireland, the SUI is run entirely by volunteers. With upcoming GPDR legislation, and growing member numbers, we feel that GoMembership will simplify a lot of the administrative burden and allow us to provide a great service to members.”
